Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful property with our family! From the first email to the day we left Denise was informative and quick to reply and answer questions- as was Charlie, the on site manager, during our stay.

The cottage was a perfect location for our family with twin 9 yr old boys and our 2 older yellow labs- an easy walk to downtown Ocean Beach and the pier and an easy drive to the dog beach!

Our boys loved playing with the other kids staying in the other cottages and I think our dogs thought we were on vacation at a dog park! We loved all the "extras" included with the house for our beach trips- the beach umbrellas and chairs, boogie boards and surf boards and the sand toys, too. Having the hoses around the property was nice to wash off sandy kids and dogs- as well as the extra towels for both, too.

For being a "small cottage" your place had ample space and well organized storage areas- much better than some other beach houses we've stayed in before! It was stocked with everything we needed, clean and well kept and very nicely decorated, too.

Your cottages are also a nice location to visit the Sunset Cliffs trails as well as Cabrillo National Park and Monument at the end of Point Loma Peninsula- which both are great for kids and most areas are dog friendly with well maintained, beautiful trails.
We would definitely look into booking through Blue Heron cottages again in the future!

Blue Herron cottages has now moved to the top of my list for places to stay when visiting San Diego!

We had a fabulous time and will for sure return for all our future trips. Not only were the cottages well kept and fully stocked, but the outside ‘common area’ grounds were perfect for our getaway. It was so nice not to have to bring extra towels, sheets, and play toys, as everything is available and fully stocked right there on the site.

Our dogs were so excited to play and roam the outside area. Coming from Arizona, they were excited about being able to actually lie in the grass after a tiring play at the dog beach, which is only a 5 minute drive from the cottages. They loved playing with the other dogs and visiting with the other adults as well. They were even more excited to play with Charlie, who is on site and available at all times interacting with the guests. What a wonderful host!

From making the reservation, to answering all of our questions, we were well taken care of by the owners. They were very quick to respond and make us feel comfortable prior to our arrival.

We met several new friends and can’t wait to meet them back at the cottages next summer.

What a refreshing, great experience. I will recommend this to many others for future trips. Blue Herron Cottages, the owners, and on site manager made everything a smooth trip. We only wish we could have stayed longer, especially the dogs.

Spent 3 nights at this wonderful place!! I have been traveling to San Diego for many years and have stayed in many places…for my money, this is the best place I have ever stayed in Ocean Beach!!! Well worth the price of admission. This will be my spot anytime I plan to visit. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!! I would certainly recommend it to anyone that wants to be close enough to the water with the amenities of home.

We were really impressed with how clean and modern the cottages were! Our dog Mojo had a great time in the courtyard with the other dogs. Everyone was so nice and welcoming…Charlie the property manager is the best! We loved our stay and can’t wait to go back!

What a great place. Clean and has everything you need for making a great meal. Just bring your own food or go to Olive Tree market for the best roasted chicken. The enclosed courtyard was perfect for our dogs. The bed was very comfy. It was nice having an onside manager. Charlie was very helpful when there was a small issue with the tv. He was great at recommendations for places to eat and shop. Just 2 blocks from the beach. Will definitely stay again.

The Cottages are newly renovated along with all the grounds. It has all the comforts of home and then some. They are the best Cottages that I saw in the area. The grounds are immaculate and has everything for all your needs. Bicycles, barbecue, fast wifi, many lounge areas, laundry, parking and dog friendly. I will definitely stay there whenever I visit San Diego!

Wow! All I can say is wow! Absolutely amazing place to stay. We were greeted immediately upon arrival by Charlie the on site manager, who was awesome! We felt very welcomed right away. The location is fantastic, and it feels like home away from home..but with a beach! I can’t wait to stay again, and will be telling all to give this place a shot! Thank you for the great vacation!

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Heron Cottages! We spent only 4 days but would have stayed longer if we could (might even still be there)! My husband and I brought my elderly Mom and her dog for a San Diego “stay-cation” as they live inland. Although my Mom’s activities were limited, we enjoyed our cottage so much – there wasn’t a thing we needed for our stay that wasn’t provided. The cottage was modern, very clean and comfy – we couldn’t have been happier. My Mom’s dog LOVED meeting all the other dogs – it was like living in a dog park for her. Charlie, the property manager and gardener was fantastic and always available if we needed something or had a question. He is an asset to making the property an excellent choice. All 4 of us were so depressed on our last night because we weren’t able to stay longer. Highly recommended and we do hope to come back later this year. Thanks!

We have stayed here on more than one occasion and every time it is fantastic! The cottages are always clean and welcoming from the moment you walk in making for a perfect start to a relaxing vacation! We love being so close to dog beach so that we can start the days off there with our dogs. Charlie was great and we appreciated having him there. We are looking forward to our next visit!

This place gets 10 stars! This review is looong overdue! Modern and clean oasis for you and your dogs! I wish I could live there! My dogs were nervous at first, as we had just moved cross country and they were anxious after six long days in the car but they quickly adjusted and made friends with the other dogs staying there. Charlie, the property manager, was accommodating and helpful, the location is spectacular and I can’t wait to return someday!
